I paid, but the app still asks me to purchase

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase is tied to the Apple ID or Google account that bought it, so make sure the device is signed in with that same account.

If it still does not restore, email us with the date of purchase and we will help.

The app says it cannot reach my target size

Some files cannot be reduced that far while remaining valid. This is most common when:

  • The target is extremely small relative to the original — for example asking a 12 MB photo to fit in 10 KB.
  • The file is a PNG. PNG compresses differently from JPG and often cannot shrink as far. Try switching the output format to JPG in the app's settings.

The app suggests a larger target when this happens. Reducing the image dimensions in the app's options also helps considerably.

My upload form rejected the file even though it was under the limit

Check what file type the form accepts, not just the size. Many government portals accept only JPG and reject PNG or HEIC. Wajeez converts iPhone HEIC photos to JPG automatically, and you can force JPG output in settings.

Some portals also enforce minimum dimensions or a specific aspect ratio for photographs. The app includes dimension presets for common passport and visa photo sizes.

Can Wajeez compress PDFs?

Not in the version on the App Store today, which handles photos — JPG, PNG, and HEIC. PDF compression arrives in version 1.2, with the same exact-size targeting you already use for photos, for documents up to 30 pages, and preset targets for strict portals and common upload forms.

It is included in the Everything unlock. If you buy that, PDF compression is yours the moment the update lands — no second purchase. The Photo unlock covers photos only.

One thing to know before you rely on it: reaching an exact size means each page is re-rendered as an image, so the text in the compressed file is no longer selectable or searchable. That is the right trade-off for scanned documents, and the wrong one if you need to copy text out afterwards.

Where did my compressed file go?

Compressed photos are saved to your device's photo library when you tap Save, and the app offers an Open Gallery shortcut immediately afterwards.

Your original file is never changed or replaced — Wajeez always creates a new copy.

The compressed photo looks too low quality

Quality is a direct consequence of the target size: a smaller target means more compression. If the result looks worse than you need, try a larger target, or use the app's dimension options to reduce the pixel size instead — that often preserves apparent sharpness better than compressing a full-resolution image very hard.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. All compression happens on your device, and there is no Kiducate server that receives your files. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
