Please include your device model, iOS version, app version, the document type you were using, and a short description of the issue.

"The photo is too dark" or "Lighting is uneven"

Before processing your photo, the app checks its lighting on your device. It blocks photos that are too dark, and warns you about harsh or uneven lighting — usually a single strong light source, like a window on one side or direct sun.

  • Face a window or another even light source rather than having it behind you or to one side.
  • Avoid direct overhead sun or a single lamp close to your face — soft, even light works best.
  • If the room is simply dim, move somewhere brighter rather than retaking in the same spot.

"We couldn't detect a face"

Make sure your whole face is visible, facing the camera, without sunglasses or anything covering your eyes or mouth. This check runs entirely on your device before your photo is processed further.

Background removal failed or the result looks wrong

Producing the white background requires uploading your photo to a cloud service, so a failure here usually means a network problem rather than something wrong with the photo itself.

  • Check your internet connection and try again — the app automatically retries once on a network error before showing you anything.
  • Very large photos from some cameras or from Live Photos can occasionally cause processing to fail; the app already resizes large images automatically, but a very unusual file format may still fail — try a plain photo or a fresh capture instead.
  • If the cutout misses part of your hair or shoulders, retake the photo with clearer separation between you and the background — a plain wall works better than a cluttered one.

Restoring purchases

Open the app → the help screen → Restore Purchases.

  • The monthly plan restores immediately on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
  • A single export is a consumable purchase and cannot be restored once it has already been used to complete an export. If you purchased one but the app closed or was reinstalled before you used it, Restore Purchases recovers a credit purchased in roughly the last 24 hours; a credit lost longer ago than that cannot be recovered.

Export or print sheet issues

Each successful export gives you the single photo sized to your chosen document, and a print-ready sheet if you use that option. Both are saved to your history and can be saved to your photo library or shared from there.

If a print sheet doesn't come out the right size at a print shop, confirm the shop is printing at 100% scale rather than "fit to page" — scaling the image changes its physical dimensions even though the file itself is correct.

Which document should I choose?

The app includes Emirates ID, UAE Passport, UAE Visa, UAE Driving License, Saudi Iqama, Saudi Passport, Kuwait Civil ID, Bahrain ID, Qatar ID, Oman ID, Schengen Visa, US Passport, and a general 35×45mm document format. Pick the option that names your document; if you don't see an exact match, the general format covers most other standard ID-style photos.

Where is my photo history stored?

Your most recent 50 results, including the photos and print sheets, are stored locally on your device only — not on a Kiducate server. Read the full Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored and what is uploaded to produce your photo.

Not an official government app
