Terms of Use

Dürer is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchase. These terms cover the licence, your imported images, and the limits of what the app does.

These terms cover your use of Dürer, an iPhone app published by Kiducate. Dürer is free. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising, so nothing here concerns billing, renewal or cancellation.

1. Licence

Kiducate grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Dürer on devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, sublicense or redistribute the app, or attempt to reverse-engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted.

2. Cost

Dürer is free to download and free to use, with no usage limit. Importing your own photographs is included at no cost. If a paid feature is ever introduced, it will be optional and disclosed on this page and in the App Store listing before it ships.

3. Your content

Photographs you import remain yours. They are processed and displayed on your device and never transmitted to us, so we neither hold nor claim any rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to use any image you import, including where it is protected by copyright.

The images built into Dürer are a separate matter. They are original to Kiducate — drawn by our own script, not sourced or licensed from anyone — and released under CC0 1.0. Anything you draw from one of them is yours to keep, publish or sell, with no credit required.

That applies to the built-in images only. Tracing a photograph you imported does not give you rights you did not already have in it.

4. What the app does, and does not, do

Dürer displays a reference image over a live camera view so you can trace onto paper beneath your device. It does not project an image onto a surface. It is a drawing aid, and the result depends on your setup, lighting and technique.

5. Safety

Position your device so that it cannot fall onto you, your work surface or anyone nearby. Kiducate is not responsible for damage or injury caused by an unstable stand or propping arrangement.

6. Disclaimer and liability

Dürer is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Kiducate is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
